eYeka Winner of Coca-Cola video contest nominated for 2013 NAMM Advertising Awards

We’re happy to share that Giacomo Cagnetti‘s video « A Guitar Hero » is being nominated for the 2013 NAMM Awards, on January 27th 2013, in Anaheim, California. The NAMM Awards have been set up by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), an American not-for-profit association that promotes the music industry and the pleasures and benefits of making music, in order to reward the use of music and musical instruments in advertising.

This will be the 8th year NAMM will award the use of musical instruments and music-making technology in advertising. The use of the guitar in Giacomo’s Coca-Cola video is « a great example of a very cool trend, » the NAMM said, and if you have seen Giacomo’s video, you’ll certainly agree! The talented director from San Benedetto del Tronto (Italy) won Coca-Cola’s Be The Change contest on eYeka this year. This nomination is the chance for him to get an additional reward for his creativity and mastery. We wish him good luck, fingers crossed for a win!

Update (October 2013):

A (late) follow-up update about the outcome of the award: in January this year, NAMM announced the winner of the NAMM Excellence Award for Music in Advertising. The 2013 winners of the NAMM Excellence Award for Music in Advertising are indeed Goodby, Silverstein & Partners for their Chevy Sonic adLet’s Do This/Needing-Getting” which features members of the band OK Go driving a car rigged to play music with a little help from hundreds of guitars, pianos, and percussion instruments positioned along the driving course:

Bad luck, Giacomo Cagnetti and Rovero Impiglia, but we hope that your talent will be rewarded next time. Meanwhile, don’t hesitate to check out the current contests on eYeka.com. Good luck!
